Just a brief update to confirm what you might already have seen in the news: the job cuts are going ahead, and yes mine is one of the many that are affected.
I was off having a scan while the announcement was made so I haven’t caught up with the details as yet, but essentially I will now be putting in an expression of interest to keep my job; failing that to get another job. If I’m unsuccessful in both of those attempts then my last day at NLNZ will be 30 November.
It’s not unexpected news, so we carry on. I’d ask that you all keep everyone affected in mind, not just me. If I’m successful in staying it means that someone else wasn’t. There’s loss all around in this, that’s the way it’s designed. We’ll just have to do what we can and see how it plays out.
